”The Izoard (Pro) can do it all and can take it all without making any mistakes – a ’Buy It! Tip’ for frequent riders!” This is RoadBIKE’s editors’ final verdict about the ”well-balanced sporty tourer” with ”great specs at an aggressive price”.
In a test of 14 bikes representing the so called carbon best-sellers category between 2,099 and 3,300 Euros the Izoard Pro received the second best point score (84 of 100) at the second best price (2,199 Euros) and was therefore rewarded with the ”Price-Value Tip”.
The bike - named after the French Alpine pass that this year once again will be stage finish in the Tour de France – achieved this result in the RoadBIKE test also because of its high-class specs like Shimano Ultegra group and ST-Swiss Spline 24 wheels mounted to a ”well-constructed carbon frame”.
The semi-compact cranks with 52/36 chainrings and an 11-32 teeth cassette are just as appropriate for sporty touring as are the 25mm wide Continental Grand Prix 4000 S II tires.
But where this bike really shines, according to the editors, is on the road: ”You sit slightly stretched-out but without the saddle being too high, directional stability is plenty and steering is predictable, the not-too-heavy wheels are easy to accelerate.”
Conclusion: ”The very competitively priced Izoard Pro immediately convinced frequent and long-distance riders. It combines direct acceleration with predictable handling; it shows a straight-forward attitude and always stays comfortable. Price-Value Tip!”
