The STEVENS Whaka Max receives the Design&Innovation Award of internet and tablet magazine Enduro-MTB in the category track bike. The jury was convinced by its ”good natured and always predictable handling as well as its comfortable riding position” which make the STEVENS touring fully ”the perfect bike for physically demanding tours.”
If anyone wants to know how a touring fully with 140 mm front and rear travel needs to be specced, look no further than the STEVENS Whaka Max which ”represents the current state of the art” which were further reasons for the jury to present the award.
Enduro MTB magazine points out STEVENS’ philosophy to match frame size to wheel size. Depending on the size of the aluminium frame there’s varying wheel sizes. While the 16” frame features 27.5” wheels, the larger sizes are specced with 29ers.
Attributes like ”cosmopolitan” and ”down-to-earth” which STEVENS as a company claims for itself were also valid for the Whaka Max, says the jury. They even add claims like ”reliable” and ”top-quality”.
The new STEVENS Whaka Max in anodized black is available from your STEVENS –IBD for 4,999 Euros. Featuring the same handling characteristics and Shimano Deore XT components the Whaka ES costs 2,999 Euros. The entry level, XT/SLX equipped Whaka retails for 2,299 Euros.
