Lennard Kämna won the bronze medal in the U23 individual time-trial of the Road Racing World Championship on his STEVENS Super Trofeo. The 19 year old Team Stölting rider from Fischerhude participated in the young riders category for the first time.
Last year, he had won the World Championship in the junior category. This time only Mads Schmidt from Denmark and Maximilian Schachmann from Berlin were faster. The Dane won on the 29.9-kilometer course in 37:10.96 minutes, 12.2 seconds ahead of Maximilian Schachmann from Berlin who had finished fifth at the U23 World Championship last year.
Unlike Schmidt and Schachmann, Lennard Kämna who was the last to enter the race had to cope with rain on the second half of the course. With a strong performance he secured the third place despite the tough conditions, 21.02 seconds behind the winner.
