One of the most prestigious trophies is a victory in the Stiftung Warentest product comparisons. STEVENS can receive this trophy for a third time this year. After the city-crosser Strada 800 and the trekking bike Jazz, the top segment of modern bike development was in the sights of the product testers from Berlin.
16 bikes of the most well-known and relevant suppliers were competing in the comparison of pedelecs. The test can justifyably be called the most elaborate test of pedelecs to date, which is why Stiftung Warentest collaborated with the ADAC. The testers bought up to 5 specimens and these underwent strict testing procedures in use and on test stands.
It is sad for the bicycle industry that no less than 9 pedelecs failed during the test. However, two bikes earned the verdict “good”. Among these was the hub-shift pedelec by STEVENS – the E-Courier SX.
The E-Courier, as the only bike in the test, earned a “good” in all tested categories and earns the highest mark of all test bikes. It is also the most lightweight bike by a large margin.
Nation wide, TV, radio and magazines have been reporting on this topic for days. Not only the excellent result of the Hamburg test winner has caused a sensation, but the very weak show of the competition, above all, was notable – see the test video.
The hard test stand and practical tests of Stiftung Warentest unequivocally verify the high standards that STEVENS engineers hold STEVENS bikes to, benefitting all other bike categories.
Brand Manager Volker Dohrmann: “After the Strada 800 and the Jazz, the win in the – for us as a sporting brand relatively new – Pedelec category is obviously the more valuable and notable. Our technicians, suppliers and test engineers have done a superb job.”
You can find an extensive spreadsheet with all test results as well as further details on the test on the ADAC website.
And what do the others say about the STEVENS E-Courier SX?

www.ADAC.de: „The sporty electric bike by STEVENS convinces with good running characteristics, short charging time and long range.“
Stiftung Warentest / Zeitschrift 'test': „Best bike in the test. Only bike with nothing but good group notes and one very good one."
'BIKE-Europe': "9 out of 16 tested bikes get the mark 'inadequate' ... Only 2 models - the STEVENS E-Courier SX and the Kettler Obra RT are 'good'. The STEVENS E-Courier SX convinces with a smooth run, short chargeing times and good range."
