Saxon Switzerland – the STEVENS Tester's territory on Sunday and Monday - is an insider tip for real and pristine mountain biking. Close to the Saxon Metropolis of Dresden and the sandstone mountain-framed Elbe, there are many demanding trails and wonderful mountain panoramas.
Within the scope of the Fully Test Camp, 10 prototypes each of the STEVENS Juke and the STEVENS Sledge machines were deployed. The top-class testing field was flanked by light Sonora SL and SL-R Carbon bikes as well as proven Ridge and Glide Models.
Roughly 30 dealers and 10 STEVENS test drivers took the chance of testing the models on a 5 km parcours that had to be completed several times. The set-up was done in person by the equipment supplier Fox: No Fully driver went on the course without adjusted forks and suspenders. The testers documented their personal opinions in a protocol when changing bikes.
Epic tours to the Kohlbornstein and the Zschirnstein – situated directly on the Czech border after an ascent of 600 m – impressed the testers from the lowlands the most. “Landing such a success with the weather and the region probably had something to do with good luck,” said sales manager Rainer König. “A week before there still was a lot of snow, which would have limited the driving. Thanks to our scouts from the Dresden STEVENS dealer 'Bike-Point', there was no spreading loss. Every meter on the bikes was biking at its finest.”
Of course, there was also the technological aspect. Brand manager Volker Dohrmann: “The new generation of the STEVENS Fullies could be brought to its limits and assessed in direct comparison in a quiet and professional atmosphere. The feedback of our drivers and dealers was more than encouraging. Assessments like 'the best allround Fully that STEVENS ever built' were heard frequently.” All test drives went down without any noteworthy falls and mostly brought a smile to the participants' faces.
An experienced dealer summarizes: “These Fullies have one raison d'etre above all: they should be in the shop. Good to drive uphill, superior downhill. Driving behaviour, weight and equipment are exactly what we can and want to sell.”
The Sledge All Mountains are coming to the shops in August 2013 with the 2014 equipment. The Juke 2014 starts production after the Eurobike fair.
Presentations by the Kinematic developers of German Answer and Fox rounded the programme of the seminar. While some guests greeted the loyalty card that was handed out by the hotel reception on check-in with smiles, some STEVENS dealers were making arrangements for the next tours in Saxon Switzerland on checking out. So, the test weekend showed effects quickly.
STEVENS would like to thank all participants and supporters for the great and successful test camp.
