The World Trirathlon Championship Series race in Cagliari, Italy, marked the end of the Olympic qualification. Although Petra did not finish the race, she was able to defend her qualification place and thus secure her participation in the Olympic Games.
Following her successful qualification for the 2020 Summer Olympics, where she finished 30th in July 2021, this is now the second Olympic participation of her career.
"I'm very happy that it worked out. I now have two months to prepare properly for Paris. The pressure will drop and I can concentrate on the race," said Petra at the press conference organised by the Czech Triathlon Federation.
Petra will be competing in the sprint distance in Paris. In the cycling discipline, she is relying on the excellent Arcalis Aero road bike from STEVENS - with its low air resistance, high performance and versatility, the bike is perfect for the demands of the course in Paris.
Professional athlete Lasse Lührs will also be competing at the 2024 Summer Olympics. He will also be competing in the cycling discipline on a STEVENS Arcalis.
