UCI World Cup with podium finishes

The UCI Cyclocross World Cup is in full swing. After the first two races in the USA, race 3 of the current season was held last weekend in Tábor, Czech Republic. With Annemarie Worst (777) and Emiel Verstrynge (Crelan-Fristads), STEVENS riders were once again able to achieve podium finishes.

Annemarie Worst was able to keep up her form from Fayetteville and took home a 3rd place. For Emiel Verstrynge (Crelan-Fristads) it was the first World Cup race of the season. He would finished third in the U23 class.

In the Women's Elite race, Annemarie was able to hold a position in the leading group from the start and was to take this into the final lap. In the end, after a sprint for 2nd place, she finished third, one second behind Puck Pieterse, who in turn had to let World Cup leader Fem van Empel go. Annemarie is currently in 2nd place in the UCI Cyclocross World Cup after race three. Annemarie's 777 teammates Inge van der Heijden (8th) and Aniek van Alphen (9th) also finished in the top 10.

In the Men's U23 race, 20-year-old Belgian Emiel Verstrynge took a 3rd place on the podium. He was only beaten by winner Thibau Nys and runner-up Jente Michels. Emiel's Crelan-Fristads teammate and reigning U23 World Champion Joran Wyseure took 4th place.

In the Men's Elite race, current World Cup runner-up Laurens Sweeck, after two 2nd place finishes in Waterloo and Fayetteville, just missed the podium and had to settle for 4th place in Tábor. STEVENS rider Jens Adams (Chocovit Cycling Team) delivered a great performance on the international stage comining in in 6th after finishing 2nd in the GP Oisterwijk a weekend ago.
