Team Crelan-Corendon starts into the season

The Belgian UCI top cyclocross team Crelan-Corendon is starting the new UCI World Cup season with a strong team. The team is led by Laurens Sweeck, overall winner of the 2022/2023 UCI World Cup, and Belgian record champion Sanne Cant.

The team had already extended Laurens' contract before the start of the new season, giving both Laurens and the team a lot of confidence. ‘When I joined the team two years ago, it immediately led to an overall victory in the World Cup.

Two years later, the mutual trust is intact, both from the team and its sponsors to me and vice versa. That felt good and led to me quickly deciding to stay here for at least another two years. I hope that I can compete for victories again,’ says Laurens.

The other members of the men's team have also already impressed with their speed and success. Such as the 2022 U23 World Champion, Joran Wyseure (BEL). The 2022 European U23 champion Emiel Verstrynge (BEL) and the 2023 Belgian U23 champion Witse Meeussen and his compatriot Toon Vandebosch (elite) round off the team.

In the U23 team, U19 vice world champion (2022) Aaron Dockx (BEL) will be at the start.

The women's elite team will be led by three-time world champion Sanne Cant. She has been riding STEVENS bikes since 2009 and has already won three world titles (2017, 2018 and 2019). The reigning Belgian champion has also won 15 national titles in a row to date. Marion Norbert Riberolle (BEL) and the two Dutch riders Manon Bakker and Inge van der Heijden will line up alongside Sanne in the 2024/25 season.

The team has been further strengthened for this season with the addition of 24-year-old Italian Sara Casasola. Sara is not only the reigning Italian champion, but also won bronze at the European Championships last winter and came sixth at the World Championships in Tabor. ‘I'm really looking forward to the start of this cyclocross season,’ says the Italian. ‘I already know that I've landed in an ideal environment to reach my best level. I'm aiming for a good season and want to show the world my new colours with some good results.’

The U23 women's team includes the Belgian Xaydée van Sinaey, who has already shone with top three finishes in UCI World Cup races and a bronze medal at the 2022  European Championships.

The Crelan-Corendon team is also relying on the STEVENS Super Prestige for the new season. With its lightweight frame trimmed for ideal stiffness, the high-tech carbon bike offers the ideal conditions for many more top placings.

Inge van der Heijden, Manon Bakker and Marion Norbert Riberolle have already achieved outstanding results in the first races of the season. Inge von der Heijden won the Kleeberg Cross Mechelen, Manon Bakker finished second four times in a row in the American USCX series. Marion Norbert Riberolle took second place at the Brumath Bike Festival in France.

The 2024/25 World Cup season starts on 24 November on the challenging course in Antwerp, Belgium.

STEVENS is looking forward to the 2024/25 international cyclo-cross season and wishes the Crelan-Corendon team and the riders every success.
