Lennard Kämna won the overall classification of the Cycling Bundesliga 2015 in the Elite and Juniors’ category. In addition his Team Stölting won the team classification. The 19 year old rider from Fischerhude/Germany already had closed the deal in the 30km time trial on Saturday aboard his STEVENS Super Trofeo.
Kämna became German U23 Individual Time Trial Champion this season and gave proof of his class as a rider by coming in second in the penultimate Bundesliga race. The race was won by Daniel Westmattelmann in front of Kämna and Kämna’s team mate Nils Politt. With the overall title under his belt Kämna could enter the final Bundesliga race on Sunday in a relaxed mood. In the Cottbus-Görtlitz-Cottbus classic he assisted his team and supported Manuel Porzner in the bunch sprint to gain a good position.
Porzner sprinted to second place on his STEVENS Xenon behind Max Walscheid which aso resulted in securing the overall win in the team category for his Team Stölting. During the final Bundesliga race a five-strong group, among them Jonas Koch, who ranked second in the overall classification, had broken-away from the bunch with a maximum six minutes advantage but they were caught later on by the peloton.
Kämna rode his first year in the Elite category after having won the Juniors’ overall title last year. With 1,308 point he wins in front of Jonas Koch with 1,011 points. Jan Tschernosteris is third (897 points). After the race Kämna said to internet cycling newspage radnet.de: ”I am very happy to have won Bundesliga for the second time in a row. To also win the Elite after my Juniors’ title really makes me proud.”
