Marathon and touring fullies with 120mm of travel are the perfect all-purpose bikes. They are made for riders who like classic touring and climbing long and steep ascends but also enjoy not too-steep downhill trails. This is what the 120mm travel bikes are perfect for – with drive-neutral chassis for lots of uphill traction and downhill fun to make your ride unforgettable.
This is what the STEVENS Jura models stand for with their alloy frames, four-link rear triangles, QR15 thru axles, Boost 148/110mm axle spacing and perfectly tuned chassis.
Based on this concept the four new STEVENS Jura Carbon full suspension bikes will hit the trails – from the entry-level Jura Carbon with aluminium rear triangle and Shimano XT/SLX components up to the race-ready Jura Carbon Team with Shimano XTR Di2.
The aluminium Juras’ successful geometry with its short chainstays, long reach and flat steering angle will be adapted by the carbon models while at the same time taking advantage of the material’s properties which is expressed by the massive steerer tube area. Yet, for more pedal force when going uphill the seat tube angle is one degree steeper.
The Team model’s full carbon frame weighs in at 2,020 grams (4.4lbs, size 18in) which together with Shimano XTR Di2 Syncro Shift group, Fox Float Factory chassis and DT Swiss XR 1501 wheels makes up the Jura Carbon Team’s overall weight of 11.2kg (24.7lbs).
The Jura Carbon Di2 boast another highlight of the upcoming model year – Shimano’s new electronic MTB group XT Di2. Here you can also use Syncro Shift to shift through all gears with only one lever. The battery that powers the motors of front and rear derailleur is hidden inside the seat tube in front of the bottom bracket and can be accessed by removing three Allen bolts.
A mechanical Shimano XT group provides shifting for the Jura Carbon ES in classic STEVENS carbon red. It rolls on ST Swiss M1700 wheels, fork and rear shock from the Fox Performance line deliver a plush ride over rough surfaces.
The carbon frame with aluminium rear triangle of the entry-level Jura Carbon weighs in at 2,500 grams (5.5lbs, size 18in). The Jura Carbon is spec’d with Rock Shox Reba suspension fork and Monarch shock plus a well-proven Shimano XT/SLX component mix.
Following STEVENS’ size philosophy the new Carbon Juras with 29” wheels offer great obstacle-clearing capabilities and tires with lots of traction. Only 16in frames roll on proportional 27.5” wheels for better handling.
