On Saturday, Sören Nissen, Danish MTB Marathon Champion, was back on the podium, after a break of two weeks without racing.
He reported: “The 80 km race with 2000 meters of climbing started really fast and after 20 km we were only five riders left in the front group. I knew that I had to watch out for the German Champion Tim Böhme, so the tactic was to see what he was up to. Tactic succeeded and half way of the race I attacked him reallly hard on a long climb and immediately gained time on him. From there on it was "all out" to the finish line in Rhens.
This really nice victory shows me that I am on my way to get back in shape for the World`s in three weeks in Italy. Next weekend I will be racing the Blue Lagoon Challenge at Iceland, and hopefully I will be able to continue my successful season.”
