Second victory in a row for Laurens Sweeck

After his first place at the Superprestige in Neil last Monday, Laurens Sweeck (Crelan-Corendon) took his next victory within a week at the fourth round of the series on Saturday.

The track in Merksplas, Belgium, showed its fast side, so that there was initially a large leading group that was close together.

It was only in the final phase that Laurens Sweeck managed to pull out a significant lead. The decision was then to be made in the sandy passage, as the Belgian also managed to gain further, albeit narrow, ground on the chasing pack.

In the end, Laurens Sweeck crossed the finish line on his STEVENS Super Prestige ahead of his compatriot Toon Aerts.

As part of the X2O Trofee in Hamme, Belgium, Sara Casasola took a good third place in the elite women's race on Sunday.

After the recent successes, nothing stands in the way of the start of the international UCI World Cup season.  It starts next Sunday in Antwerp, Belgium.
