In its issue 1.2015, e-bike magazine describes the STEVENS Courier Disc Di2 as a very good combination of riding characteristics and specs. In a test of eight city pedelecs it comes in second overall with a mark of 1.7 (1=A, 6=F).
When looking at the individual categories, it is the best bike in comfort, safety and riding characteristics. At 22.7kg (50lbs) it is also the lightest fully-specced – meaning including pannier rack, full set of lights and frame-mounted lock – pedelec of all.
About the riding characteristics the editors say: ”The E-Courier proves that a sporty character and comfort don’t need to be contradictions. The frame geometry is perfectly balanced.” Riding position is not too stretched-out yet there’s enough weight on the front wheel to always keep the bike under control.
”Typical for the brand everything is high-level”
The E-Courier Disc Di2 reacts sensitively and stable to any steering movement and shows perfect directional stability. ”When the road becomes twitchy, the pedelec reacts nimbly without being nervous.”
Concerning the components the editors point out the combination of Bosch e-motor and Alfine Di2 electronic shifting in the Active Line version. ”With every shifting command the motor stops for about a quarter of a second, so the gears can engage precisely.” Also the further specs with hydraulic disc brakes and the bike’s overall craftsmanship are ”high-level as is typical for the brand”.
Conclusion: Well combined: Sporty as well as comfortable, stable handling and well-specced
The STEVENS E-Courier Disc Di2 is available in a Gents’ as well as a Ladies’ and a low-instep (”Forma”) version and in many sizes.
