STEVENS Stelvio is a classic in STEVENS’ bike range and stands for sporty and balanced riding characteristics as well as solid specs in the upper entry-level.

Editors of RoadBIKE write in the test letter in issue 5/2016: “With its perfect mix of smoothness, precise steering and stretched, but comfortable seating position which is perfect for touring, it simply is the ideal allrounder, a road bike any rider is very well served with.”

“There is no lighter one”
Due to the completely reworked aluminum frame the bike runs very smoothly: “The frame only weighs 1.364 grams (size 58 cm, editor’s note), around 200 grams less than the year before – there is no lighter frame in the test”, editors state. It was sufficiently rigid, however. There was only little critique for the fork that could have been more flexible. In the subratings weight of set, total weight, wheels, overall handling and handling downhill Stelvio got the best ratings.

Perfect specs
Also specs with complete Shimano 105 group-set (compact crankset with 50/34 teeth and cassette with 11-32 teeth) and Fulcrum Racing Sport wheels with Continental Grand Sport Race 25mm tires gave no reason for criticism.

RoadBIKE that offers a lot of expert knowledge for beginners and advanced riders “for a perfect start into the season” in issue 5/2016 states that in the upper entry-level meanwhile all relevant technical innovations like wide tires, 2x1 gears thanks to Shimano’s 105 group-set and carbon forks were offered. The test field ranged from comfortable touring road bikes to compact sports bikes with direct handling. With the “ideally balanced” STEVENS Stelvio “any rider will be happy. Even more so as the Stelvio is available in nine frame sizes between 44 and 62 cm.”

Conclusion:
Lightweight frame, top specs, ideally balanced riding characteristics – with this STEVENS bike any rider will be happy. Test win in the specialist dealers category.
