Lennard Kämna is the new U23 German Mountain Champion. Last Sunday, the 19 year old rider of Team Stölting won the 10 k sprint uphill on STEVENS Xenon. Johannes Weber and Frederik Dombrowski scored second and third.
Kämnas team mates Moritz Backofen and Jonas Tenbrock finished fourth and eighth – a great team result.
‟After the Tour de l’Avenir, I had again the legs to win my second German Champion title this year. I am very happy about that“, Kämna said after the race. Already at the end of June Kämna, who is also the reigning Junior World Champion in individual time trial, won the U23 Championship in individual time trial, too, in his first year in the Elite category.
With his victory at the Mountain Championship, which also enters into the overall result of the Rad-Bundesliga (National Bike League), Kämna increased his overall lead. Two races before the league season ends he leads with nearly 200 points over second placed Jonas Koch. His Team Stölting leads the team classification as well.
