The E-Inception AM 6.6.1 marks the entry into the E-Full Suspension mountain bike world from STEVENS and comes with an aluminium frame in comfort-oriented touring geometry. This is accompanied by a slightly higher front end than on the E-Inception models with the sportier GTF frame geometry. The fact that you can still climb the mountains very well in a comfortable riding position did not go unnoticed by the EMTB test editors. "Despite the high front, the Stevens [...] is clearly the bike with the best climbing performance in the benchmark test", because "the Stevens scrambles stoically up steep climbs even in a passive riding position". This is due not only to the harmonious frame geometry but also to the specification of the AM 6.6.1, because "the Ergon saddle offers excellent rear support, the sensitive rear triangle does not sag on steps, the Bosch drive unit pushes powerfully and controllably", according to the magazine.

But the bike not only scores points uphill, it also cuts an excellent figure downhill thanks to sensibly selected components. "[...] on nasty descents, the [...] E-Inception can score. The suspension [...] offers [...] noticeably more buffer, which you can also exploit thanks to the tyres with puncture-proof Super Trail casing".

The EMTB magazine editors emphasise the importance of the overall concept of the bike, a practical choice of components and the basic tuning of the hardware: "Stevens does [...] the best job here and can put itself at the top of the test field in terms of suspension". And further: "This means that the E-Inception's range of use clearly goes beyond the touring category and offers the riding safety of an all-mountain". And although the bike has a slightly higher weight due to its aluminium frame, "[...] the bike remains easy to control and can also convince as a comfortable, [...] tourer", according to the EMTB editors.

Especially touring E-MTBs can sometimes be fundamentally different in their design, and so the test editors note: "There are very different characters in the touring bikes. If you are looking for comfort and like to let your bike do the work off-road, you will find what you are looking for with Stevens". Consequently, the STEVENS AM 6.6.1 does the best job in the five-bike E-touring bike comparison test in the opinion of EMTB magazine, because it is "confident even in difficult terrain, yet comfortable and accessible on tour. This hands the Stevens the test victory despite its weight".
