When children have grown too tall for their kids’ bikes, their ideas and those of their parents’ about the new bike can be vastly different from each other.
It should be safe to ride in traffic and adhere to all respective regulations, the parents say. There should also be mudguards, so not all the clothing has to be washed after each ride in the rain. The kids’ opinion of course is another: The bike not only has to withstand the ride to school and being crammed into the bike rack in front of it, but also any off-road ride after school or at the weekend.
The new STEVENS Furious can do both: The Junior Tour bike combines every-day use capability for school rides with recreational fun on knobby tires. Its MTB genes it inherited from its bigger brothers provide fun and the right amount of street cred – with a suspension fork with 100 mm of travel, reliable disc brakes with sensitive modulation and studded tires.
For the parents‘ ease of mind there’s the brakes, reliable in any weather but also the completely road legal street kit including a hub dynamo-powered set of lights with a bright LED headlight, a bell, reflective trim on the tires and rear reflectors on the MTB-compatible flat pedals. The rear kick stand and mudguards also come in handy. The latter can easily be detached for off-road riding or dry summers – and reattached in autumn. Your STEVENS dealer can also retrofit a pannier rack. The tail light fed by a cable almost completely hidden inside the frame (and therefore protected from damage) can be switched for a cat’s eye on the rack.
Be it a reliable companion for the ride to school or for the start into life as a mountain biker: The STEVENS Furious in Deep Sea Blue is both – with just a few adaptations, and depending on one’s point of view.
The Furious is available in three frame sizes - 14'', 16'' and 18'' - in Deep Sea Blue at certified STEVENS dealers.
