The STEVENS Elegance Lite truly lives up to the affix ”Lite” in its name, Radtouren Magazine says about this bike with rigid fork, Shimano 8-speed gear hub with coaster brake and further specs for touring and every-day use.
Weighing in at 15.28kg (33.7lbs) in 55cm frame size it was amongst the lightest bikes in test. The fact that it can legally carry up to 130kg (286.6lbs) is another proof for this STEVENS bike’s overall quality. Besides its suitability for every-day use the city bike scored best marks for its touring capabilities: Especially the more upright, comfortable seating position but also the specs.
For touring with luggage, the fork features eyelets for a low-rider pannier rack. As the name suggests this rack places the pannier close to the front axle for a low center of gravity.
Also the testers liked the sturdy rear triangle mounted kickstand (which keeps the bike stable even with panniers full of touring equipment or groceries) and the LED lights switching on automatically when it gets dark. So the 699 Euros STEVENS Elegance Lite belongs into the category ”useful bike for all purposes like grocery shopping, riding to work or weekend touring”. Note: For the model year 2017 the bike has become cheaper by almost 50 Euros.
Conclusion:
A sporty city bike with coaster brake. Low weight, lots of fun to ride, and full suitability for every-day use are the Stevens Elegance Lite main characteristics.
