"The Esprit is really well-rounded. It can do everything, and it does it pretty well," praises "MYBIKE" test editor Jochen Donner. Whether for the daily commute to work through traffic or for a Sunday excursion with the family - according to "MYBIKE", the Esprit convinces with a sporty, balanced seating position, fine ergonomics and mature handling with a smooth, solid ride.

They particularly emphasise the "outstanding stability at the steering head", which is given to the Esprit by the tapered head tube and the double butted steer tube. Even more comfort is provided by the finely responsive SR Suntour air suspension fork, which makes it easy to master even unpleasant, ageing bike paths. Hands and arms are thus considerably relieved.

High-quality equipment as a big plus

A mix of sportiness and touring comfort: the overall high-quality equipment underlines the all-round claim of the Esprit. Shimano Deore gears with XT rear derailleur, Busch + Müller 50 lux headlight with stand-up rear light and Racktime rear rack: our trekking bike also scored well with these features in the test: "Good light is always a matter of course with STEVENS, as is a secure kickstand and long, wet-proof mudguards. The rear rack is also outstandingly stable, with its large, solid support at the dropout and clever design providing support that is fully suitable for luggage". Quite the all-rounder.

The necessary pace on the road and bike routes is provided by nippy, 40 mm wide Schwalbe Marathon Racer tires, which let you start fast and can also maintain the good speed thanks to a low rolling resistance.

"Unagitated, mature, competent: a superior bike concept", is how "MYBIKE" sums up the Esprit test. Once again, there is nothing to add to this.
