Cyclocross season is just around the corner the first international competition have already taken place and the new STEVENS Super Prestige Disc Di2 and Super Prestige Disc are waiting at STEVENS dealerships to be taken for a fast ride through the woods.

This model is also the weapon of choice of teams Beobank-Corendon, ERA Circus, Enertherm Beobank and STEVENS Racing Team for the new season. They will race the fifth World Cup race in Zeven, Norther Germany, which STEVENS will support as the main sponsor.

Even though in the past three years athletes like Mathieu van der Poel (2015), Jens Dekker (2016) and Sanne Cant (2017) have achieved their greatest victories, winning two European Championships as well as more than 20 national titles, we in collaboration with our teams have completely revamped the high-end ’crosser.

Frame 300g Lighter, Yet More Comfortable
The frame became 300 grams (10.1oz) lighter yet also more comfortable. Based on the highly appraised by the pros race geometry it now weighs in at only 990 grams including rear derailleur hanger and front derailleur clamp.

The weight loss resulted from STEVENS engineers using more refined processes in frame manufacturing and highest-quality carbon fiber as well as an optimized frame design with slim top and seat tube and bulky down tube. Despite the lower weight the frame now boasts an increased in steerer tube stiffness of almost 30% (110 Nm/° compared to 85 Nm/°) while the bottom bracket keeps at the same, already high level.

Even better, yet: At the same time the rear triangle’s vertical compliance increased by 12% (255 N/mm > 225 N/mm).

Cable Guide, Chain Guide and Mud Clearing Chain Stays
After last year’s adaptations to accommodate Flatmount brakes and QR12 thru-axles the frame was further improved in detail. Internal cable routing was simplified for easier maintenance: Universal cable ports for mechanical and electronic drivetrains are now standard just as in many other STEVENS race bikes.

In order to save as many Watts possible better used for forward motion the chainstays are now vertically oval near the tire to prevent mud or snow from getting stuck between them and block the rear wheel. Toward the dropout the cross section changes horizontally oval for added lateral stiffness.

To avoid the risk of a dropped chain the super Prestige now features a standard chain guide. It can be adjusted vertically according to chain ring size, and a version for single chain rings is also available.
