At the end of the season the riders of Continental Team Vorarlberg have once again actively drawn attention to themselves in the concert of World Tour Teams. At the Tour of Almaty in Kazakhstan Clement Koretzky placed himself 20th on his STEVENS Xenon. Alexey Lutsenko from Kazakhstan won the fierce race after 180 kilometers 49 seconds ahead of favourite and Vuelta Espana winner Fabio Aru. Pavel Kochetkov from Russia scored third.
On the 31 kilometer circuit Team Vorarlberg again and again showed up in the leading group. In the finale the Kazakh teams had taken control of their home race turning it into a knock-out race with many drop-outs. Due to its hilly topography the race course was not made for sprinters. But despite him lacking racing kilometers and having suffered a severe fall at the Tour of Austria Clement Koretzky could award himself with a conciliatory end of the season.
In the course of the season Team Vorarlberg achieved many top results and made a lot of positive headlines, among others the overall victory at the Tour of Austria with Victor de la Parte winning two stages and the overall victory at the Tour of Luxembourg. Furthermore, the team won many stages and classification jerseys at stage races, e.g. Clement Koretzky at Boucles de Mayenne (UCI 2.1) or Nicolas Baldo at Paris-Mantes (UCI 2.1.).
„But also the young riders developed very well and will assume greater responsibility as top performers“, summarize the team management. Daniel Paulus for example won the Austrian Uphill Championship in the U23 category. The team constellation for the next season was already worked on emphatically.
