In its 17th season, the Austrian Continental Team Vorarlberg rides on STEVENS Xenon, while using the STEVENS Super Trofeo for their time trial events. The team presented itself and its new racing machines to the public on Friday night (27/02) at the Niederhofer dealership in Vorarlberg.
The young team has an average age of 24 and includes many U23 riders as well as experienced pros. They will start with the Austrian Cycling Association in the state championships as well as at numerous international races. Their season kicked off at the Grand Prix Izola in Slovenia. Tour of Mexico was also a goal of the team but unfortunately it was canceled for the team at the last moment.
A main goal of the Vorarlberg team is the Tour of Austria, mainly because the final stage will end in Bregenz, the capital of Vorarlberg. At this event, the team’s goal is to have a good performance in some individual stages, especially since they have solid climbers.
In total, Team Vorarlberg will race in 15 countries. The end of March, they are off to the Tour de Taiwan, where the Team Vorarlberg won a stage last year. This year it is the aim of their ambitious international racing calendar aim to draw attention to themselves as well as collect valuable UCI World Ranking points.
