The STEVENS Super Trofeo is a bike with great triathlon capabilities, says Triathlon Magazine in their current July issue. In their test the STEVENS time trial bike excelled on courses that are typical for triathlons: ”The Super Trofeo was especially strong on flat to hilly courses with wide curves.” And the editors continue: ”We especially liked the directional stability and the ability to corner while staying in the aero bars.”
The frame with internal cable routing throughout is more than sufficiently stiff for that kind of task. The stiff head tube area reacted especially fast to steering maneuvers. Also the Mavic Cosmic CRX 60 wheels contributed to the bike’s directional stability and were insusceptible to cross winds. They also add to a good brake performance. Their specially roughened sidewalls combined with the included special Mavic brake pads mounted on the TRP brakes that are integrated into the fork and behind the bottom bracket, deliver a convincing braking performance.
Fast precise adaption
the STEVENS Super Trofeo took only little time and effort to be adapted to the rider: ”Thanks to a seatpost adaptable from 74 to 78 degree seat angle, a two-component cockpit consisting of base bar and aero clip-on and an angle-adjustable stem” the Super Trofeo was easy to adjust.
The editors had tried the Shimano Dura Ace equipped model. In the STEVENS Custom Program you can also choose between five frame sizes, many on-request details, component groups and wheelsets.
Conclusion: ”Technically, for your money you’ll get a no-compromise high-speed machine with outstanding triathlon capabilities.”
