In a test of Tour-Pedelecs conducted by the Radtouren magazine, the STEVENS E-Caprile 25 won the editors over with its versatility and riding characteristics. They wrote: “The bike rides perfectly straight, is one of the most masterful ones when carrying baggage, the wide handlebar and the large disc brakes make it easy to control.”
All in all, our city- and touring-pedelec was given the grade 1.4, making it the second best model tested.
Furthermore they praisingly mentioned the bike’s equipment which was made for smooth operation while touring and in everyday use – this applies for “the pannier rack as well as the solidly mounted kickstand and the lighting system”.
Due to a mix of Bosch’s Performance drive and the NuVincy Harmony 360 unit, which changes gears automatically, shifting was smooth as well.
The Caprile was the only e-bike tested that was equipped with this automatic shifting system which worked in perfect harmony. This bike, so to be read in the test, was a good investment, especially for frequent users and city bikers as “the toothless hub promises an extra long lifespan.”
Conclusion: The Caprile is the best touring-pedelec for those, who also ride a lot in the city. But first and foremost it is simply a well-built bike.
The STEVENS E-Caprile 25 is available as Gent- and lower Forma-model in many different sizes.
