Following extensive tests prior to the product launch, which far exceed the minimum standards, we at STEVENS Vertriebs GmbH also observe our products regularly in practice. In the course of these product observations, we have become aware of isolated cases of failure of the stems of our STEVENS Super Trofeo triathlon and time trial bikes.

The irregularities with this component have prompted us to revise the existing stem and to publish this safety information. A failure of this component could result in loss of control which may lead to accidents.

STEVENS Vertriebs GmbH warns all cyclists against the use of STEVENS Super Trofeo 2014–2017 models with the original stem, and offers a quick and free exchange at STEVENS dealers.

If they have not yet been contacted by their dealer, all riders and/or purchasers of Super Trofeo bicycles are urged to contact preferably their own STEVENS dealer in this regard. All STEVENS dealers have, of course, been informed and can order the new stems immediately, if they have not done so already. This will keep the downtime and fitting time short.
