The Super Prestige 1x11 is the entry into the world of STEVENS carbon crossers. The bike comes with Shimano's high-quality GRX 810-based 1x groupset as well as sprinty DT Swiss C 1800 Spline wheels. And last but not least, it has the genes of 17 cyclocross world championship titles and countless other medals won by cross superstars like Mathieu van der Poel, Wout van Aert or three-time World and 13-time Belgian champion Sanne Cant.

For the 2022 model year, the carbon frame of the Super Prestige has been revised in detail to offer more integration and thus improved aerodynamics. Lines and cables now run under the FSA SMR stem into the head tube. Another advantage of the cable integration: the brake lines and shift cables are better protected from dirt. It also makes the bike easier to handle in hectic competition, as all cables are routed into the frame along the shortest possible path. Accidental snagging is thus prevented.

Also new and part of the updated, even cleaner look of the Super Prestige frame is "... an integrated saddle clamp, of which you can only see a recessed bolt head on the side", according to the TOUR test editors. The set-up of the frame has not been changed. "The geometry and thus the handling were copied from the successful predecessor to the millimetre." All in all, the new frame knows how to convince the testers: "The frame shows classic lines, the design looks distinctive […] straightforward."

The thoroughbred cross geometry of the Super Prestige also sets the bike apart from the current gravel bike trend: "This means that riding the thoroughbred crosser - for all its similarities - feels different from riding a gravel bike. Provided with a little more ground clearance, the rider [...] sits higher above the bike, the ride is [...] more playful." This circumstance predestines the Super Prestige above all for off-road training rides, because "the short wheelbase and the steep angles are optimised for angled courses, the Stevens manoeuvres around obstacles formidably," according to the TOUR test editors.

The high manufacturing quality of the crosser ensures relaxation away from the road, noted the TOUR testers: "Nothing rattles or creaks, all details are well thought out, the saddle clamp works perfectly." "The gear ratio [of the Shimano GRX 810-based drivetrain] is pleasantly graduated in the middle range ...", thus making rides in hilly terrain in particular an enjoyable pleasure.

At the same time, the Super Prestige 1x11 is "... pleasantly down-to-earth priced at 3,499 euros", says the TOUR test editors. The bike offers high-quality equipment, "the icing on the cake is a noble carbon crank from Easton". And the sister models also receive special mention. "The prices are fair: an electronic SRAM Force 1x12 shifting system is already available for 500 euros more; the top model with Shimano's 2x11 GRX-Di2 costs 4,499 euros." "A two-speed crank [in the Super Prestige 2x11] is available at no extra charge."

Finally, the TOUR editors give the STEVENS Super Prestige 1x11 a good overall rating of 2.0.
