Technology

Pinion gearbox

Pinion gearbox

Where a bottom bracket shell would normally only house the bottom bracket, the complete shifting centre is located here and provides the rider with – depending on the version – 9, 12 or 18 absolutely evenly and closely spaced gears and an enormous range for every conceivable riding situation. The small power packs – made in Germany – also guarantee perfect handling with the resulting optimum weight distribution.

FEQ

FEQ

FEQ stands for Fully Equipped. This means that all STEVENS bikes with the FEQ suffix are fully equipped for touring duties. This includes mudguards, kickstand, bell and lighting system and, in the vast majority of cases, a pannier rack.

Belt drive

Belt drive

With a belt drive, a sturdy belt transmits the drive from the crank to the sprocket of the drive wheel. Although the non-separable design of the belt requires a STEVENS frame with a separable right seat stay as a special measure, the advantages are convincing: noticeable weight savings, silent running and significantly lower maintenance requirements.

S-Lite aluminium fork

S-Lite aluminium fork

This is what a modern rigid fork looks like today: The straight fork blades and the fork crown are moulded from a single piece – this saves welding seams and guarantees maximum rigidity and steering precision. Full mudguards and a lowrider luggage rack can be fitted, as can an elegant holder for the front headlight. The version with QR15 thru-axle can be made particularly theft-proof with an optional Pitlock system. And yet the STEVENS S-Lite aluminium fork fully lives up to its name on the scales.

LightSkin LED seatpost

LightSkin LED seatpost

The LightSKIN seat post is equipped with LEDs which, in conjunction with the rear light integrated in the rear mudguard, increase the visibility of the bike in busy urban traffic.

Dropouts with integrated pannier rack eyelets

Dropouts with integrated pannier rack eyelets

In collaboration with pannier rack specialists Tubus/Racktime STEVENS’ engineers have developed a dropout that also serves as an elegant pannier rack mount. It not only looks fantastic, it also ensures that forces caused by luggage or large amounts of groceries are evenly transmitted inot the frame – resulting in a more stable and safer design.
