The Plantur Pura team consists of a total of 21 female riders from Belgium, The Netherlands, Ireland, Great Britain, Austria and Germany. Sanne Cant, Yara Kastelijn, Julie de Wilde, and Kiona Crabbe know each other well as they are an integral part of the IKO-Crelan cyclocross team, while Aniek van Alphen, Inge van der Heijden and Annemarie Worst make up the successful Team 777, regularly take victories with their STEVENS cyclo-cross bikes.
While the first races of the new road season were quite successful for the fast ladies with a 9th place for Julie de Wilde at the GP Oetingen and an 11th place for Sanne Cant at the classic race Gent-Wevelgem, Julie de Wilde could currently achieve a fantastic second place finish at the Dwars door Flanderen mid-week race in Waregem, Belgium. In the final sprint, the fast Belgian was only beaten by winner Chiara Consonni while she was able to leave Elise Chabbey behind for third place.
The riders will continue without a considerable break at the Woman's World Tour races Ronde de Vlaanderen (4th of April) in Belgium and at the Amstel Gold Race on the 10th of April in Maastricht, The Netherlands. Sandwiched between there is the women's elite race Scheldeprijs on the 6th of April in Flanders, Belgium.
